For those who have Little Tikes toys
Abby's is going to be 2 soon. Her aunts want to buy her a Little Tikes house type of thing but I can't figure out if I would rather her have more of a climbing/slide play thing or a house. Keep in mind that this will also have to work for Zippy when he is old enough to use it. We are looking in the $300-400 range.
Would you choose something like this:
or something that would require more use of gross motor coordination like this:
TIA

Re: For those who have Little Tikes toys
Sadie has a little house at my moms and she LOVES it and I dont have to worry about her falling off of it, so I say house. LOL.
Abby is older though, but if your with the baby and she wants to play on it, would she be ok by herself?

Re: For those who have Little Tikes toys
we had both a house and a "playgym" thing by little tykes when I moved I only took the house and gave the gym to my neighbor. I so wish I had kept that. So I vote for the climbing gym. It will definitely be more entertaining.

Re: For those who have Little Tikes toys
I dont have either but knowing Eddie, he would be far more entertained by the gym than the house, for longer periods of time and not as easily bored.

Re: For those who have Little Tikes toys
Hmmm, tough one. I know before she was 2-2.5 Gracie would have loved the house. Now that she's all over the place she loves climbing & jumping & swinging, etc. So I'd probably say the gym type one.
DS on the other hand loves sitting on his beach chair in the house & waving out the window for 10-20 minutes at a time (cracks me up).
ETA: You could always get a rose cottage type thing for inside the house (a lot cheaper) or a tent type house thing.
Another sidenote...DD got the 50's diner at 18 months & to this day she plays in it. DS now that he's mobile loves it too.

I would go for the gym over the house.

Re: For those who have Little Tikes toys
That's a tough call bc IMO they are very different toys. Anyway you can get less expensive ones and get both? I do think that they would outgrow the slide thing faster though.
DD has a playhouse and she LOVES it! She's had it since she was 18 months old (now almost 3) and she still plays with it a lot.
This one is a nice combo -
These are a little more gender neutral
I LOVE this one - it does so many things. If this was around when we got ours I would have gotten this.
If you are not already, sign up for emails on the LT website. They usually have pretty good sales and free shipping a lot of times.

Re: For those who have Little Tikes toys
My DS never used his house much, we have a swing set and he uses that a lot more so I vote for the play set thingy

Re: For those who have Little Tikes toys
We have that house, and I feel like Chels gets bored with it quickly there isn't a lot of "bells and whistles" to keep her entertained, she has a slide and swing set too and she plays with that a lot more!!! HTH

Re: For those who have Little Tikes toys
I would go for the house. IMO they will get more use out of it. We have a climber that was handed down from my sister and the slide is SO small now that it's never used.
Go for a playhouse

Re: For those who have Little Tikes toys
I think she will outgrow the gym by next year. The slides are really small.

Re: For those who have Little Tikes toys
I have both kinds of outdoor toys you posted (The same house but a much larger climbing gym)
I purchased both of them in great condition from Craigs List for 100.00.
Check the listings everyday and you will find exactly what you need for about 1/4 of the retail price.

Re: For those who have Little Tikes toys
I like the playhouse. I got a cheap climber slide thing for Liam from Craigslist. There are a ton of them.
