For those who have the Hoover steam machine - Qs
Some of you posted about that steamer (the one that looks like a vaccuum). Not the "mop" version!
How does that work? Do you just put water or do you use a solution?
Do you do both carpet and tile? What about grout?
If you rented one before (like at CVS or HD) which one works better?

I have the Hoover SteamVac.
You put a mixture of hot water and detergent (there is carpet detergent designed specifically for steam vacs).
There are attachments to handle tile, furniture, carpet, etc. There's very little that it can't handle. Grout often needs a lot of scrubbing, so I'm not sure how well it would clean really dirty grout. You could try, but I wouldn't count on it.
I rented one years ago, and from what I remember, it seemed to work as well as the one I bought.
