Re: For those with forced-air heat.......
we will be moving into a place with forced-air heat and we saw the owners electric bill and in the month of Jan it was $300 but she is a stay at home mom. We plan on putting in a timer so it should drop to around $240 and that's in the winter.

Re: For those with forced-air heat.......
we have it with gas (the stove is gas too) and the bill is never more than $200. In the summer it goes below $50

Re: For those with forced-air heat.......
Thanks, girls! We received our first bill on the house (it's in NC), and it was $137 and we aren't living there yet.....We shut off the electric to everything except the heat (so the pipes don't freeze) and the garage door opener and I was surprised that it was that high......

Re: For those with forced-air heat.......
our bill is $220 a month. we are only home from 9:00 PM to 6:30AM every weekday, so the rest of the day we put the thermostat on 66 degrees.

We have gas forced air heat. In the winter our heating bill is anywhere from $200-$300. in the summer its the central AC and that's gone as high as $400.

our forced air heat is gas. So our electric is rather low in cost right now, but our gas bill through Keyspan can be a few 100 $$'s.

actually every realtor has told me that when its listed as forced air heat its electric heat. Really? I never would link forced air heat to electric, I always assume gas. Personally, I think it would get expensive to have electric heating of any kind, so I would not buy a house with electric heat, IMO. But I know of house that have electric heat.
