For Valentines Day
Dh and I decided to stay in... be with out baby (since hes our valentine too) and because we are going to Dip (thanks to infamousmrsotg) and to see Billy Joel on Thursday....
I said I was going to make a romantic dinner.... (for those of you who know me.... know I HATE to cook- so this is a big deal) Dh is such a picky eater...so the only big thing I could make was Thanksgiving dinner...
Im doing turkey, stuffing, mashpot, sweet pot. pie (with marshmellows) and making a cake.... All of which (except cake and mash pot. ) I have never made before
Anyone do anything special, that makes anything extra yummy????

Re: For Valentines Day
I am stealing someone else's steak and lobster tail idea. We are staying home cuz we have the italian disease "fundzalow" and we don't want to spend extra $$$ eating out. Besides, I have never been a big fan of restaurants on V Day, they are too busy and usually charge extra $$$.

Re: For Valentines Day
To make the mash potatoes extra creamy use heavy cream or add some shredded mozerella.
Make sure you cut the potatoes into manegeable chunks (I usually cut them into quarters) before boiling them and mash them right after they are done boiling, it is easier when they are hot.
All you need for great mashed potatoes is butter, milk (or heavy cream), a little salt and pepper, and the mozzerella if you choose to use it.
Good Luck!!
Happy V-Day!

You could also add sour cream to add a little fluff and taste. I was never a fan of sour cream, but we ate a a friends house once and I watche dhim add it, almost left , but I tried it and it was sooo good. You could also add a little fresh garlic to the potatoes and bake em a bit in the oven to brown them.
