Formula Feeding and Bottle Temp?
Spinoff to my travel post......So, for all of you who got your babies to adjust to room temp or even cold bottles, how did you do it.
DD is 9 months old and until she started teething at 7 months, we had no problem with room temp bottles (just took off the chill from the fridge and she was fine) But once she started teething, she refused to eat at all unless I warmed up the bottle (on my ped's advice, she is small and not a big eater to begin with)...now of course, she won't eat room temp unless she's REALLY hungry....I'd like to get her to room temp, not just for travel but also because we'll soon be switching to cow's milk.
So, any advice on how you did it...did you gradually decrease the temp of the bottles or go cold (pun intended) turkey?

For #1 I have gradually reduced the warmness, so far it's the only way that works for her right now.
#2 has gotten cold/room temp since day 1 now! Not going through that again!!
Good Luck!

I've always given room temp bottles. Cold ones are a shock to him though...he usually pushes the nipple out of his mouth, so I now leave them out for a few minutes to let them warm up.

Re: Formula Feeding and Bottle Temp?
I dont really have any advice about weaning to room temp because we gave DD room temp from day 1 - we never warmed her bottles. I didnt want her to get used to that....

I will usually warm the water for 15 seconds before mixing in the formula, but DS will also take a cold bottle. I would suggest slowly lessening the time you warm the bottle.
