Formula moms, ? About vacations

I havent been on a long vacation with a formula baby in a while Chat Icon

For long days at the Disney parks, should I bring powder with me and buy bottled water as I go. or bring ready to feed (liquid)?
Im just dreading the weight of the liquid formula, but I think Id only need 2-3 at most. and then he never really drinks a whole 8oz, he's a 6oz drinker...

Suggestions?
thanks

Re: Formula moms, ? About vacations

I would do powder because it gets really hot and humid in the parks and I wouldn't want to lug around something to keep it cold (a cooler, etc.).

definitely powder. When we go out, I pre-fill the bottle with water. I have a 3-part container that separates the formula for each feeding.

Do you have the Sassy brand one by chance? I have that one, and I don't know if mine is defective, but the powder leaks into the other compartments.

I have the sassy one and it DOES go over to the other compartments. I rmemeber hearing this back when my first was born from other moms that had it then.

OK, powder it is, and I'll just buy water as I go, and always have a bottle ready before he gets hungry Chat Icon

thanks guys Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks, I'll try that brand. Fortunately my Sassy one came with a single serving container as well as a bonus, so I've been using that.

I usually do this too, but for the restof the day, do you carry bottled water or buy as you go? I like to be as lightweight as possible with 3 little ones and 2 strollers Chat Icon Chat Icon

Since you have the strollers which is perfect for carrying all your stuff, I would carry the bottled water and leave it in the baskets. Water in the parks is 2.50 each so that adds up.

Definitely do powder. Target sells these great little plastic bag things for powdered formula that allows you to scoop up to 8oz. of powder into them. I always keep like 5 of them in my bag so incase there's something that comes up, I have enough formula for a while.

Re: Formula moms, ? About vacations

Guess i'm the only one that does RTF...Chat Icon

But then again the biggest trip i've done with the baby is a weekend trip to Lancaster so it was no big deal carrying the cans of RTF since you are traveling by car. Our big trip is the cruise and by then we'll be off formula...I hope...Chat Icon

Re: Formula moms, ? About vacations

they make individual cans of formula in like an eight pack because buying bottled water everytime you need a bottle can get expensive

Re: Formula moms, ? About vacations

We went to sea world and I just took a tupperwear container with as much formula as I needed. I prefilled bottles with the amount of water needed or you could just buy it in the park, but water in the park is expensive.

Re: Formula moms, ? About vacations

I used 8oz cans of RTF in Disney. I found it to be easier because I would just pop the top and pour. Chat Icon

Anna, I know you and there is NO WAY on this planet that you would pay what they are asking at the parks for water, so if you're going to bring your own, you might as well carry the RTF. It probably weighs the same as a bottled water.Chat Icon
