Forrest Gump 2?
A Forrest Gump sequel may in the the works thirteen years after the original film ran in theaters. Paramount Pictures has reportedly been considering the idea for years, and even hired a writer to pen a sequel in 2001. A script was completed, but the project was sidelined by legal issues which have since been worked out, paving the way for possible development. Would Tom Hanks return as the lovable lead character? Sources say the Oscar winner is in talks with producers, but nothing has been confirmed.

The whole thing was based on history and ended in the 80s. The 90s were pretty uneventful and the first 10 years of the new millenium arent over. If they used the post 9/11 theme, it would be a sell-out. I think it would ruin the importance of the first movie.
Whats next? Titanic 2?

that's what i was thinking! what material would they use? and how interesting would it be to see forrest going thru the 80's, 90's, and the new century?
