Fort Salonga?
This OOTer needs your help again
So we have been looking at homes in N.port and our realtor showed us a house in Fort Salonga. Its a beautiful house on 1.3 acres right off fresh pond rd close to the Indian Hills CC. Does anyone know anything about this area?
It is in the Kings Park School DIstrict so I do not know how good that is (I looked on Newsday but am still unsure). WOuld private schools be too far?
Overall what does everyone know about the SD and the area.
I appreciate any info!! Thanks!!
ETA: There is also a nice house near the a few blocks form main street but is much smaller - what would YOU prefer?

Re: Fort Salonga?
ok, I'm biased.... I would ALWAYS chose a home within walking distance of main st.... and northport is
just make sure you don't have to pay flood insurance

Re: Fort Salonga?
I grew up in Kings Park and the school district is excellent. Fort Salonga is a more $$ area and very beautiful. If I could afford to live in KP or FS I would move there in a heartbeat.

ITA!!!!!!!
IMO this is a great area and you can't go wrong. With regard to the school district, my sister's children go to Kings Park and she is very happy. The only negative about KP is that its a relatively small district. But that is not necessarily a negative and coming from a larger district (Smithtown) in some ways I believe things are done better/smarter in KP. In addition, when you look at test scores in any district in western suffolk, you really can't go wrong.
Good luck whatever you decide.

Fort Salonga is beautiful.
I live in Kings Park and have heard great things about the school district. My children are not yet in school.
