Fortunoff Going out of Business Sale
Someone here asked about it last night....
The Vera Bradley bags are 10% off and it liked they were going fast.
Housewares, lladro, Fine china gifts are 20% off.
It was really busy at lunch and very sad to think that this LI institution will be gone for good.
I wonder how long that huge store will remain vacant.

All china. It was just so sad walking through there My mom and I had such a great time picking out my pattern there!

yeah... they need to up the precetage off on those puppies!  i LOVE those bags, but already have so many, so I can only justify getting a new one if they're cheaper than that!

Sooo I mentioned to my great aunt who is living at my Mom's house, on hospice now (but, is totally obsessed with talking about the new baby coming since I am the first grandchild to have a baby) that I wanted the bag... She wanted to get it for me. So my Mom and I went up there and got it from her to me. It will be her shower present to me...  I am so excited!! And I think it's really sweet of her to want to get it for me when she is so sick.

The registry machines were shut off.
I honestly think most of the sale was so stupid because it was 10% off (off the original prices... So all those sale prices that they have posted in red.. don't count. So most of the stuff you could have bought cheaper two days ago.
BUT, it was PACKED!! People were buying like it was some great deal. Maybe Fortunoff could have stayed in bussiness if they did a storewide 10% off sale

There really has been. Remember the Rainforest Cafe when the mall opened. It had 3 hour waits and then closed. The little card store closed this week I'm worried for my closest Ann Taylor Loft!

I went tonight. The sales aren't great. Most are 10-20% off. The only thing I saw that was significant was their over-priced mattresses. So in terms of Fortunoff, they had sales but since Fortunoff is generally overpriced it's still above what deals you'd find elsewhere.
