FOUND DOG:Ridge-update
UPDATE
I called the shelter today and they said he was picked up by his owner! I'm so happy!
Thank you all for your help!
This morning I found this guy laying in the street at a busy intersection in my neighborhood. at first I thought he was hit by a car, it was pouring rain, he was soaking wet and laying perfectly still.
I ran home to get my phone so I could take a picture of him & he followed me home.
I had to go to work & I was so afraid he would get hit by a car so I called brookhaven animal shelter. They picked him up around 9:30am today.
He had no tags or collar!!!
If you know his owner please tell them to call the shelter right away!

Definitely contact Lost and Found Pets of LI on Facebook. They are an incredible source! Someone may be looking for him on there, and you should be able to get his picture up on there as well.
Is this dog definitely male? Lost and Found Pets of LI has a picture of this dog in their lost album:

Thank you! I just messaged them.
I have him on my facebook, our community facebook, our school district FB and a bunch of my friends put him on instagram.
I feel so bad for him, I hope his family gets him today!

I think this is the same dog that I found last night! I've been in touch with the people that found her right before me and he/she escaped from their yard. I found it wandering around Lakeside Trl.
I'm waiting for the shelter to open, but this dog looks identical! Very sweet, tried to jump into my car!

the dog is the sweetest! I saw it on FB too! I can't believe people dont put tags on dogs they know get out!
I originally found her laying on lakeside trail like she was hit by a car!

She was sitting down right in the middle of Lakeside Trl last night. I rolled down my window and she tried to jump in. Very sweet, but she crawled under my front porch last night and we can't coax her out. I would have brought her somewhere last night but it seems I have to wait for the shelter to pick her up.

The people that own her never even contacted me to say thank you for saving her from getting hit by a car! I would have kept her at my house but I wasnt sure how she would get along with my dog & cat plus I have chickens and rabbits in my backyard that I thought she might try to hunt. Shes such a pretty dog, I can't believe her owners don't try harder to keep her safe!

Shoot. I thought she was still there but I pulled on the wire dog tether that she was on and she chewed right through it. Please keep a look out for her!

The way I'm reading this post, the dog is lost again. Please contact Lost & Found Pets of LI to let them know where the sighting was! They're an excellent resource for reconnecting pets and their owners.
