Four weeks old- how many ounces at a feeding?
I am mostly breastfeeding, but I am also doing a lot of pumping, mostly because Emma always still seems hungry after coming off the breast. Sometimes she just gets breast milk in a bottle, but I am wondering if I'm giving her enough. When she gets the expressed milk, it's usually 4 ounces.

Re: Four weeks old- how many ounces at a feeding?
we use formula but my DD had about 3 to 4 oz at that time.
we increase whenever it seems like she is not satisified by a half oz. So far so good!

Re: Four weeks old- how many ounces at a feeding?
If Emma still seems hungry after a feeding, then try to feed her a little bit more.. maybe increased it by 1/2 oz to 1 oz and see how she does, if she doesn't spit up, etc.
She might need 5 oz every so often, and you really cannot overfeed them at that age... feed on demand
edited to add: I only FF Nikolas and actually he's not the best example to go by since he's a piggy by 4 weeks I believe he was up to 5-6oz every 3 hours

Re: Four weeks old- how many ounces at a feeding?
I BF and FF and I have noticed that when I give DD a bottle of breastmilk, she takes more than the formula. She is 8 weeks now and when she takes only formula it is usually 4-5 ounces. If it is breastmilk it is closer to 6 ounces.

My daugher is a little over three weeks. She eats between 4 and 5 oz every four hours or so. When she was eating four, she just always seemed hungry so now we make five so its there if she wants it.

Re: Four weeks old- how many ounces at a feeding?
We have been feeding Justin 4 oz every 3 1/2-4 hours and the past two days have been giving him 5 oz for some feedings bc he didn't seem satisfied with only 4 oz.
He'll be 4 weeks on Friday.

I've noticed the same thing about Emma, that she takes more breastmilk than formula. I think formula is a little "heavier" than breast milk.
Thank you ladies- I appreciate it.
