Fraudulent charges on bank statement - any advice?
I checked my bank statement and there are charges we did not incur on the statement. We use a debit card for most transactions. Thankfully less than $100 but nonetheless...I called the bank, cancelled my card and made claims on the charges. Is there anything else to do??
TIA

i would also put a fraud alert on your credit just to be extra safe.

I am not sure who you bank with, I have Chase and when something silimar happened to me they opened up and investigation and returned the money right away. Good luck with everything.

be careful because these crooks have their games all mapped out. they do a few at first, see that theyre not caught, and keep going.
check your credit reports. they may get hold of other cards (when it happened to us, they went to a store, said they lost their card, and were allowed to make a purchase!)
also, the places where they charged items, see if you can call the exact location, ask questions. (block your caller ID, dont give your name if at all possible, unless youre speaking to a mgr) sometimes people remember just based on the day/time/item purchased. depends.
and document EVERYTHINg.
i hope it was a quick "high" for them and they gave up.

Remember to call all 3 credit reporting agencies and put a hold on your credit.
You don't want them opening new cards in your name.
I'm sure it is fine, and this should be the end of it but easier to make a few phone calls to PREVENT bigger issues.
Good luck
