Freaking out about vacation
OK, DH and I just booked a 2 week vacation to Europe. I will tell my new employer next week (I'm not techincally a permanent employee until after the summer and will then get a new hire letter, etc.) - But I'm nervous about it. I know some palces don't like you to take more than one week at a time. Its not an issue of time, just the combined 2 weeks. Its too late, we bought the tkts. but I'm nervous. Should I be? Do you find that the practice at your job?

Re: Freaking out about vacation
I think I would have asked them before I booked it- most places only let you take 2 weeks if you are getting married

Honestly, you should have waited to book any vacation until you knew the time was definitely approved by your supervisor.

Re: Freaking out about vacation
when did you book the vacation?
i would have told my employer that i'm planning a 2 week vacation just to make sure there's no issue with that...
but since you hadn't, you should tell them asap now.
usually, fulltimers need to request anything over a week's worth of vacation a month in advance.
where in europe are you going? i'm taking 2 weeks of vacation myself in late may... luckily i dont have to deal with the approval process since i was laid of 2 weeks ago :D
