Freaking out (TMI)
So in the past week or so- a few times when Ryan went # 2- I noticed some "color"- I would call DH in just to make sure- the color I saw was orange and not red....
Each time- Dh reassured me- it was orange, and that it was because of the carrots or carrots and beef dinner...that he had previously..
Well- this morning he woke up with maroonish red "spots" in his stool- He had beef and veg. dinner- which was orangy redish- last night...
But Im not sure if this is what it is...
He did start milk- and week by week- I am adding an oz. to his formula...
And he is on antibiotic...
Could this be blood???
I put some of it in a container and am waiting for the Dr to open up- and see if I can get it looked out/tested....
But in the meantime- Any advice you could give- I would appreciate!
(Its not from straining either- he stool is soft)

Re: Freaking out (TMI)
I think maybe it is from the food. If he has been on milk for a couple of weeks I am pretty sure it would have shown up way before today.
I hope everything turns out ok

Re: Freaking out (TMI)
sound slike it is fromt he food. Keep in mind, although blood is visible in oop from a milk allergy, it is at times microscopic, that is why they do stool guiacs. Beef and veggies alwasy cause my son to have reddish color poops. Sounds like nothing.

I think it is from the big people food. Hayley has had some different colors in her poop and it is because she is eating more big people food.

We definitely have had some funky color combos in our house as we transistioned with food.
But always call the doc if you are uneasy!

I think blood in stool looks black, or the stool itself would be black if you had blood in it. Call the doctor to ease your mind though. 's -

blood in the stool is black if it is old, if the stool is black that indicates a bleed usually in the gut or intestines, but you would definitely know if it were black!! It is frightening looking!!

Re: Freaking out (TMI)
We went to the DR.
He told me that internal bleeding would be black and or mucusy- which this is not.... So that was a huge relief...
He checked Ryans rectum (I couldnt bare to watch )
And looked at the stool... He wrote me a lab slip and said if it happens again- to take it to the lab-
I then asked- "Well do I have to wait til this happens again?"
and the ped. said no... but they prob wont do anything unless it happens consistently...
He thinks its something he ate- but either way its at the lab now.. and I should get the results in a day or 2...
Keeping my fingers crossed- its just food!
Thanks as always girls!
