Freezing pre-prepared Crockpot Meals?
I've seen this idea on facebook and I'd imagine it would work with almost any crockpot meal.
You do all of the prep work --- chop the veggies, prepare the protien, add spices, etc. and put the prepared ingredients in freezer-safe baggies.
On the day that you want to cook the meals in the crockpot you just thaw for 30 minutes first, then add to your crockpot and cook for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low.
I'm thinking of doing this for after the baby comes. We already ahve one child and I am wondering how I will find time to cook healthy meals for the family with 2 kids to care for.
I was thinking of making my---
Chicken, brown rice and kale soup (add the chicken stock when I add it to the slow cooker)
Beef Stew
Italian Beef and Lentil Stew- another fav of my family that uses tomatoes, zucchini, onions
Turkey and White Bean Chili
Has anyone done this before? Or do you have slow-coooker recipes that you think will lend themselves well to doing this kind of thing? Please share!
