Frequent visitors - menu?
DH and I moved into our new house a few months ago. We never had a housewarming party - looking back we probably should have so we could have had everyone over at once. We have different guests coming over just about every weekend for the next couple of months (and already have had quite a few weekends of guests). It's getting to be a lot of work to cook every time and it's costing a lot of $! Some people are low-key and don't mind just ordering in a pizza - others I'd prefer to cook for. Any ideas for a good menu for visitors that won't break the bank or cost me a whole weekend in the kitchen? TIA!

ITA!
Baked ziti, burnt broccoli & salad is SO EASY.
My friends always love a homemade pizza with caesar salad.
BBQ drumsticks, white rice & homemade buttermilk drop biscuits (always a hit!)
For summertime, BBQ is always easy. Pick either grilled chicken, burgers, hotdogs, some kind of kabob... and pair with a simple potato or macaroni salad and a green salad or corn on the cob.

Re: Frequent visitors - menu?
I always just kind of water the soup, so to speak. I buy and cook for 4 and find ways to make that work for the odd visitor most of the time.
But if I'm having guests and need to cook for a crowd on a budget.. pasta, meatloaf, roasted chicken legs, chicken soup, frittata, and London broil are usually easy and fairly inexpensive meals.
Example: Thinly sliced marinated London broil, fresh roasted corn on the cob and roasted asparagus with fresh garlic OR Zesty marinara sauce with chunks of zucchini served over a bed of angel hair pasta with golden garlic bread and a tossed salad of summer greens with a light basil vinaigrette. OR Homestyle meatloaf with a rich brown gravy, brown butter noodles and kitchen sliced green beans. OR Frittata with thinly sliced and seasoned potatoes & onions served with fresh rocket salad and a simple lemon & oil dressing accompanied by a handmade fruit salad. OR Warm Chicken Noodle Soup served with fresh, hot bread and a cucumber salad. OR Golden Herb Roasted Chicken Drumsticks, Hayley's Burnt Broccoli and Savory Quinoa Pilaf

Re: Frequent visitors - menu?
I would buy a costco roasted chicken, make a box of pasta and sauce, and a salad.

Re: Frequent visitors - menu?
Any kind of pasta dish.
You can also do a lasagna and just buy a cheaper ground meat mix and the no-boil noodles.
It seems mozzarella and ricotta have been on sale a lot lately, or just get the ingredients at Target which always seems cheaper for those basics.
We also do a lot of small BBQs in the summer and I just buy the frozen burgers and throw them on the grill.
Good hot dogs tend to be on sale a lot BOGO in the summer.
