Fresh Direct to order groceries? Other grocery delivery sites in Bklyn/Queens?
An elderly relative lives in Queens, doesnt have a car, and normally walks to the store to get groceries. With the bad weather coming this week, I would rather order her groceries than have her go out. Near her is a Key Food, but no other grocery store chains that I could order from. For example, there is no Stop N Shop near her to order Peapod from
Has anyone had any experience with Fresh Direct grocieries? Where does the food come from? (The website says it comes from farms. Where?)
I would really appreciate info, or suggestions where I can order groceries from.

I don't know where it comes from, but my boss lives in Brooklyn and raves about Fresh Direct! She orders from them all the time. We went over to her house for dinner and she ordered some of their pre-made meals and they were excellent!

The Fresh Direct warehouse is located in Long Island City, Queens. I live in LIC and have ordered from there...it's pretty good. I am more of a grocery store person bc I like to see the things I buy, but it definitely works in a pinch!

she must live near me  my nearest "big" supermarket is key food.
I order fresh direct pretty often, especially the meats and the produce. It's great convenience wise and the quality is way better than Key Food.

also, the Met Food and I'm sure the Key Food by me deliver. But I would go with Fresh Direct - I do this b/c they have more variety and better quality than the supermarkets by me in Queens.

Fresh Direct wouldn't deliver to me, and I'm not far for LIC at all.

My mom lives in a remote area of Brooklyn and her local key food delivers to her home. Maybe you can check out the supermarket websites and research their delivery options.
I hope she finds delivery! I know it's a giant relief for my mom.
