Friend Question
Ok so my friend is friends with a girl i just CANNOT STAND....I find her EXTREMELY IRRITATING to be around... She will not talk to me unless i ask her a direct question. She enjoys putting down other people and yet is pitiful herself...
So when i am invited over my friends house and she is there..i fell like i am in HELL.
She asked me over to a BBQ on sat and if i wanted to i could have gone but chose not to because i knew the annoying friend would be there...
What do you suggest doing?
a. **** it up... b. Avoid going over when annoying girl is there. c. Talk to friend (but i really hav kinda done this already..)

Re: Friend Question
I gotta vote for "B" as well
Though I know that stinks too, because then you miss out on things with YOUR FRIEND just because you cannot stand HER FRIEND

Re: Friend Question
If you're invited to a large group thing and the annoying girl is there, I would s uck it up, and just spend my time with other people, especially since she doesn't talk to you anyhow.
If it's a small thing, I would decline.

Re: Friend Question
Hmm...that's tough. There's nothing that says you have to be friends with that girl you don't like, but at the same time it's hard to be with your friend if you are unfriendly with the other girl.
What does your friend say about this girl putting other people down all the time? Is she okay with being friends with someone like that? If she's not, then maybe you could both confront the other girl... And you could call her out on the way she ignores you.
But if your friend isn't on board with this, forget it. Then I think I would just avoid going over when annoying girl is there.

i think my friend accepts who she is and just deals with it...
I know i can't confront the annoying girl...If i did i would just let loose on everything and that might cause a bit of a scene
But everytime i am around her i am finding it VERY HARD to give her an attitude...
but thanks girls.... i think i am going to do what ya said and avoid smaller GTG's...

Re: Friend Question
I have friends who know they have the annoying friend, b/c we've told them & we started avoiding situations with the annoying friend.
Eventually the friend just starts to only see the annoying friend on a one one basis & not subject the rest of us to him/her, except for occassional birthdays & things. It helps though if multiple people have mentioned that this freind is annoying & if they person realizes that it is true, and they they are willing to deal, but not everyone else is.

I agree with B. I tend to give attitudes too though, but most of the time in that type of situation, I just ignore it.

I also agree with B and avoiding the smaller things. You're not really missing much if you are going to be unhappy while you are there.

Re: Friend Question
Avoid that girl, cause if she don't know how fine you are than no need to get your pressure up being around her!

Re: Friend Question
I would have to say B I have a friend who my sister can't stand...only because my friend still acts like a teenager. Her biggest concern in life is hitting the hottest club every night of the week. But I love my friend because she has always been there for me. She is a kind hearted person who never means any harm to anyone. Im well aware that my sister doesnt want to deal with my friend's immaturity...so I keep them seperate...neither seem to mind, they kind of prefer it that way.

Re: Friend Question
I would avoid the small get togethers as well.
and if you yourself make plans with your friend please tell her not to bring annoying girl...
it's best that you avoid this pain in the butt as much as you can. I know how I am and eventually I would snap...

This is pretty much what I do. I am social enough that I can always find someone else to talk to at a larger gathering.

Re: Friend Question
Another vote for B.
I have this issue also but the annoying girl is someone I used to be very good friends with but we still have common friends. For the most part our common friends keep us separate but when they can't I usually don't go, especially since it's hard for my DH to be off work and go with me.

Re: Friend Question
I was going to answer C, but then realized that if you talk to your friend about it, then it'd basically be like you'd be asking her to choose between you & the annoying girl, and that's not cool. So I say B, too.
