Friends are weird.

I basically have 2 best friends from childhood. One friend is going through some stuff as am I. Yet, neither of us have heard anything from the 3rd friend. She never was one that was good with initiating communication, as weird as that sounds, but part of me feels like there is no excuse when you know your friends are going through some stuff. Just wanted to vent because it just occurred to me I've kind of had it with her. Not an email just to say "hey, how ya doing?" to me nor my other friend. I understand people have lives and are busy and get caught up in daily happenings, but to not inquire how things are going just irks me.

do u know why she doesn't e-mail or call. i would think she would want to be there for u guys

She was never the one who made the phone calls or wrote the letters or anything. IT was always US who called HER or wrote HER. She would reply, but she never did the initiating. And it's always been that way, since middle school. She is sweet at pie but things were done for her and I guess she got acustomed to that. It's just sad because now the true meaning behind friendship is not showing through. And I know it isn't just us, it's all friends she has. It's just immature and at 28, you'd think she would have grown up a bit.

I can totally relate to this as well... I've had friends/family members that put in little to no effort in staying in touch-even through the toughest times. I can def relate to this!!!

Sorry you're dealing with that, sometimes I find just sticking with peolpe that will support you during tough times helps me so much!!

Sorry you are going thru a rough time right now Unfortunately there are alot of poeple out there that just don't reach out to others for what ever reason.'I always seem to have to iniate contact with friends even when I have stuff going on and they are always where have you been?Um right here where I always am

Honestly, you should talk to her about this. She may not even know that you have a problem with the way she acts. If you're just honest with her, you may find things change. Let her know how her lack of innitiative really hurts you. If things don't change after you've spoken to her then you need to seriously reevaluate the friendship.
