Frozen Drinks
I'm leaving for Dominican Republic in 2 weeks. I'm really concerned with the mixed drinks and alcoholic beverages with ice. I really don't want to get sick and ruin my vacation. Did anyone here ever get sick off of mixed drinks in an all inclusive resort in DR? Do they put ice in the alcoholic beverages??
I don't want to end up like Charlotte in Sex and the City movie!!!

I have never had as issue on any vacation - I would say every hotel and bar has filitered ice and water for drinks- or who would go there??
charlette drank the shower water - which I would NEVER do- I almost drank water from the sink in cancun- something I used to do at my parents house when I was hung over- but I stopped myself

Never gotten sick and I've been to many AI resorts. I always use ice because they use filtered water to make the ice.

i drank water from the sink by accident- literally 1 gulp to take a pill, thinknig i was at home and i was SICK for 2 days. UGh it was horrible

ice in frozen drinks are perfectly fine
I went to DR 2 weeks ago...If you looke behind the bar, they have gallons upon gallons of bottled water...All frozen drinks, ice, etc....are made with bottled water....
I didnt even use tap water to brush my teeth. I just rinsed with bottled water to be on the safe side, you know...
My dh, however, rinsed with the tap water and he was ok...but i would not recommend it.

the only drink I usually stay away from on vacation is pina colada (coconut milk is a natural laxative)
