Re: Frozen Meat
If you listen to my mom, it's good "forever". I don't keep anything more than 6 mos to a year.

Re: Frozen Meat
I just took out some steaks to defrost from October. I was wondering the same thing. I think it should be OK

Re: Frozen Meat
I'd eat 'em. But, I also make DH smell anything that may be *remotely* funky.

Re: Frozen Meat
My mom had told me it's good for a loooooooong time, but it'll start to lose flavor the longer it's in there and you probably wouldn't want to bother holding on to it for longer than 6 months to a year.

Re: Frozen Meat
Its not so much that they go "bad" in the freezer...they just simply lose there flavor and get freezer burned.

Re: Frozen Meat
We had steak & chicken legs we froze last summer the other night & they were fine. Just give it the sniff test when it defrosts.

Re: Frozen Meat
I usually hold onto meet for 3 months..max. But I also have a VERY picky DH who will flip out if I served "old" food.
