Frustrated- Phone Interview

SO I e-mailed my resume to a firm in response to a job. Someone contacted me and asked to set up a phone interview. Scheduled it for last Friday, 8am. I made sure to leave for work late that day so I could have the interview at home.

7:45 I'm in the shower and I get a call that the person I am talking to has to take his dog to the vet. I return his call and suggest three times to reschedule. No response.

Monday, I e-mail the secretary about rescheduling. She tells me today 8am. Again, I stay home and don't go into the office. I call at 8- he isn't ready. Can I call at 9?

I call at 9, no answer. Call again at 9:15- he is in, but won't talk to me. Tellls me to call in the afternoon.

I call in the afternoon, on a call and can't talk to me. Will call me tonight. Chat Icon

I know you are trying to save time by screening be during a phone interview, but stop wasting MY time!!!

Re: Frustrated- Phone Interview

I once gave a two hr window to the person who would be doing the phone interview for my previous employment and he waited until five minutes before that time period was up to call me.

Trust me, its a great indicator as to how they are with time management. My manager ended up being the biggest procrastinator, everything was done late and never on time.

I hate to say it, but I would highly consider looking else where. Best of luck

Re: Frustrated- Phone Interview

I agree with other posters... if its this frustrating for just a phone intv, be wary of how frustrating it might be to work there. Your time is valuable and should be treated as such

Re: Frustrated- Phone Interview

Move on from this place, my old boss was like this, she had no regard for other people or their time. She would reschedule or cancel 2 minutes before she was to conduct the interview.

From my experience with her, she was the only person that mattered and it sounds like this guy is very much like that.

that's very unprofessional and IMO, says something about the company as a whole right there.
