FSH "normal"... um thanks, I think....
Why won't the receptionist tell you what the number is- she says it's normal and i have to talk to my doc to get the real number... and my doc is out until next week.
So, I guess I should rest easy that it's "normal"?

if it's normal i don't see the harm in telling u the real number, especially since he is out of town but i guess that's their policy but if they said it was normal then that should out your mind at ease.
to you!!

I'm a numbers person, I need to know the number. The nurse definately could have told you!
Not to be a debbie downer, but when my husband had his first SA (done at the request of my OB), they told us it was "normal" At that time, I never thought to ask about numbers. A few months later when we moved to the RE, during our initial consultation, he said DH's results were NOT normal, and lo and behold, 2 SA's later we found not only were we dealing with MY reproductive issues, but with MF issues that even if I didn't have any problems, I still wouldn't have gotten pregnant on my own.
ETA: I misread your post, and see that it was the receptionist. No, they can't give out information, but the NP can! In fact, my OB practice if I'm looking for results, I have to call the NP line.

i'm thinking there has to be a reason as to why she couldn't give you the number.
i think natural instinct would be to ask the nurse, once she gives you a number, 'is that okay or no?' and if they aren't properly trained to answer that question - by giving you an answer, they could potentially get in trouble for it.... Kinda like how x-ray techs aren't allowed to tell you how your test went....ya know???
If not properly trained - they could give you wrong info and lots of bad things could stem from that....
So - while it sucks - i do 'get it'.

I hear you ladies- I'm just being bratty. Guess I'll wait 'till next week when the doc is back in.

I'd be the same way. I wouldn't want to wait. I would want to know exactly how "normal" was it.
