FTWM with 2 or more kiddos - cost of care?
What is the damage whether for daycare or in-home care? For an infant and 2.5 year old?
Looks like it is going to be equivalent to our NYC rent which is scary!!!

For us, it was approximately 600/wk at the low end. Some were closer to 800/wk
If you're in the city, you may want to look into a nanny, it may cost you about the same but provide more flexibility. I have a friend with a 3yo on the UES and she had mentioned once that the nanny was partially necessary because of a lack of adequate day care centers in the city?

Thanks for replying.
OMG $600 a week is $2600 monthly! I totally get why some moms decide to SAH.

Re: FTWM with 2 or more kiddos - cost of care?
At my DC daycare, it is $1250 for full time care for an infant and $1045 for full time toddler.
So for us, at one point we were paying around $2300/month.
It's gotten a little better now because the tuition goes down a little as they get older. My DS is now 4 and DD is almost 2 and I think we are now at about $2000/month. (funny how I am looking at $2000 as a good deal compared to $2300! )
It's basically like another mortgage.

We pay ~$600/wk for the baby (nanny) and $325/wk for the toddler's preschool so $925/wk total.

Re: FTWM with 2 or more kiddos - cost of care?
We're in Brooklyn and our nanny gets paid $16 hour for our 17 month old DD. I'm terrified to see what one will cost once the new baby comes in May. We may have to really consider our options then.

My new daycare will be $3350/mth for a 3 year old and 2 year old. gulp. i was paying 2k per mth for in home daycare, but my kids are not happy there. They were happier at a traditional facility. before we moved it was $2500/mth at their other daycare.
