Full term ladies, Anyone else....
terrified of the actual labor and delivery? I am really starting to freak out. Can anyone suggest some ways to stay calm? I took the childbirth class at Good Sam but it really didn't help ease my fears. Thanks!

Have you tried looking into something like Hypnobirthing? I am reading the book now but it helps to teach you deep relaxation techniques. There is also a CD with it that guides you to relax.

I'm trying not to think about it too much... kind of let it happen as it happens. Ya know?

Re: Full term ladies, Anyone else....
This is why I didn't take those classes...ignorance is bliss Just kidding. I'm still on bedrest so I can't go.
The only thing that makes me feel better is knowing that millions of women have done it before me and survived. I have a friend who is the biggest freaking baby about everything and she did it so if she can, I can. And let's not forget the legal use of drugs!! Woo hoo! It's like a party without the risk of arrest. LOL

True, millions of women have been through it. I so plan on having an epi. I just wish they made liquid xanax to put in the IV and that it was safe for the baby. I don't think it's asking to much

That's my problem, I tend to over think things and I go through all the different possible scenerios. But keeping focused on finally holding my baby girl just might help. And of course, just going with the flow. I just pray I can keep myself composed!

Re: Full term ladies, Anyone else....
I was completely terrified, and all that got me thru was the knowledge that it would eventually be over and I'd have my baby in my arms. I clearly recall crying that I couldn't get thru it, but my DH, the nurses and my OB rallied me and encouraged me along.

That is great that you had the support of the nurses and your ob! I just hope mine are the same way...

Re: Full term ladies, Anyone else....
I'm due with my second August 12, but will probably be induced this Thursday! So I've already went through it once. At the beginning of this pg, I was excited to go through it again. Now that it's almost here, I'm starting to freak again. Just know that you WILL get through it. Millions of women do it. Before you know it, it will be a memory. I will be fine!!

Re: Full term ladies, Anyone else....
I will be full term next week and I am starting to freak out just a bit. My dreams are now about labor every night. I am trying to stay calm about it and just think about the excitement of the baby coming.
