"fun dad" wants to take my 3 year old to see ironman tomorrow...thoughts? tia!

please keep in mind, the boy and i are together all of them time.

4 hours away from me sort of makes me sway towards yes...

but if anyone is going to be allowed to use bad language around him, it should be me.

anyone see it?
thanks!

Ok, you know I am liberal and laid back as they come and I say noChat Icon

Tell him to get him out for four hours but not to see that, Christopher is only a few months younger and gets freaked by Toy Story 2

LOL - I just googled bc I have no clue about Ironman and I'm going to say No since it's PG13. I thought it was a cartoon movie LMAO.

I agree with Kate though, kick him out of the house, and tell him to do something else with him...or another movie! I think it's probably pretty scary, but what do I know?! Chat Icon

ETA - just looked up movies - how about that "How to train your dragon" one?

Re: "fun dad" wants to take my 3 year old to see ironman tomorrow...thoughts? tia!

It depends..

I took DS, who is 4 1/2, to see it yesterday.. I didn't realize until after I bought the tickets that it was PG-13 and was mostly just worried he'd get scared.

With that said.. there was not much cursing at all.. I think I remember MAYBE 2 curses.. BUT.. what I would worry about is him possibly being scared.. DS wasn't at all (he's seen the first Iron Man about a million times).. but there were a couple of times that I was looking at him almost expecting him to be scared.

I would go by how your child is and how you think he will react.. the cursing wasn't really the issue.. I think it was more Mickey Rourke's scary face that was creeping me out Chat Icon

Also.. there were a lot of young kids there.. I would do whatever you think is right for him Chat Icon

Re: "fun dad" wants to take my 3 year old to see ironman tomorrow...thoughts? tia!

Cailen saw it with us on Friday - he looooved it!!!

The only complaint Cailen had was that Iron Man wasn't on the screen for the entire movie Chat Icon

There is obviously violence - but mostly robot to robot contact Chat Icon

The movie doesn't really show anyone dying (it is implied when they are laying there or hanging from something) but no blood.

The 1st movie had a sex scene, which I don't let Cailen watch - the 2nd movie there is no sex. Some subtle innuendo that will go over a 3 yr old's head.

If your DC is easily scared, I wouldn't do it. But nothing scares Cailen when it comes to superheroes, villains, etc, so he was in Heaven! Chat Icon

DS is 7, and we had a "Guys Night Out" last night and saw Iron Man 2. He loved it. The worst of the curses are actually bleeped out, and no people get violently killed. Some guards are assumed to be dead, but the woman just kicked them really hard, so it's easy to explain that they are just hurt and lying on the floor for a while.... Chat Icon

Even Ivan didn't scare DS.

Nope. I would not let a child under the age of 7 or 8 see it. Its rated PG 13. IMO, not appropriate for a very young child.

My son (3 yr old) has a new obsession with Iron Man figures but I would NOT let him see the movie

dh only had one day off this week, and it was yesterday...they rented swiss fam robinson instead.
