Fun place to take a one year old for weekend
DS turns one next week - we are not doing a big birthday party just a very small family one BUT we would like to do something to mark the occasion so thought we would do a weekend away.
DD is 4 and DS turns one so what do you think would be fun - we would be going next weekend from Sat- Tuesday. Would like something that does not include a plane ride for such a short stay.
Would sesame place be good for his age?
Thanks

Sesame Place is a great idea. Great Escape in Lake George is lots of fun too.

Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster is great, geared for young kids. Sesame is great as well.

DS just turned one, and walks and runs, but I can't see him really enjoying an amusement park yet. We went to Mohonk Mountain House, and had a great, very relaxing weekend--tons of food, indoor pool, boating, hiking, etc.

Re: Fun place to take a one year old for weekend
Thanks Everyone ....so dutch wonderland or sesame place? Bearing in mind I have two kids to consider one who is 4 and over the whole sesame character stuff and one who will be one and has no idea who they are anyway...... I guess I just want to do something for his birthday seen as we are not having a big party - his sister had a big party and he is not going to so would like to say "well we too you to such and such a place for your birthday".
Thanks

What about day trips...go to the Bronx Zoo, LI Game farm...things like that? We are doing the same in a couple of weeks for our sons.
