Fun places to go out in the city

So I am officially old - I haven't been out in a really long time. A few friends and I are looking to go out tomorrow night for some drinks and just fun music. Any suggestions in the city as to where to go?

Sorry, Im old too. I like culture club b/c my friends and I can be silly and dance to crazy old music that we love! I also liked (back when i did go out) Bar None and lemon! and one of the W hotels roof top bars

My dh works at Tonic. It's a lounge/club. You can order good food & they have 3 floors with really big tvs that show music videos. They have a Tonic East & a Tonic West.

I've heard that the Dueling Piano Bar is pretty cool.

Session 73 on 1st ave & 73rd - bar, lounge, dancing, menu. It can get really crowded so it's best to get there before 11 to get a spot near the bar.

Social 49th & 8th Ave - they have 3 floors with different moods and serves food.

Stout 33rd & 7th - huge bar/restaurant. Always plays good music, the food is good.


Gingerman 36th bet Fifth & Madison - small snack menu, extensive beer menu.

Across from there is a place called volcano or something similar - it's a loungy martini bar - very cool place!

Thanks girls! I'm looking up a bunch of these now. My friend wants to go kinda early - do people go out before 9pm anymore? Will we be the only ones there?
