Fun social games for 2-3 year olds - ideas needed
Hey ladies -
I am starting a playgroup on Monday for 2 little girls with autism- 2 and 3 yrs old, and am looking for some ideas of what kids like to do with each other at this age. I have lots of ideas, but am always open to other people's creativity and ideas that maybe I havent thought of...
They need to be interactive, but also can have movement, books, music, etc...

Hide and go seek, musical chairs and just jumping up and down to music.
Leap frog is another good one. Good for learning to take turns. We like to spin around until we get so dizzy that we fall down in this house! (Yeah...its rough being a SAHM when it is so hot out!)

Re: Fun social games for 2-3 year olds - ideas needed
When we have playdates we do lots of arts and crafts - painting pumpkins in the fall - making butterflies in the spring, etc. Music time is also good - my friend will put Laurie Berkner on the TV, and we'll take out all the little instruments and all play together to the music. My daughter is almost 2, and she LOVES hide and seek, so I'm sure that would go over very well.
In the summer, we take out the kiddie pool, put some kiddie toys inside, and the toddlers could spend the entire day in there together. I give them washable crayons and markers, and they draw all over the pool, which is a big hit.
I also bought a huge container of sidewalk chalk - Alex and her little 2 year old friend will sit on the driveway and draw together, in nice weather. They are also fond of pushing one another on their push toys. Alex will sit, Abigail will push.
Something they really enjoy doing is holding each end of a jumprope and running around while they are both holding onto it.
Hmmm, that's about all I can think of for now.

Thanks ladies - I should add that we are doing this in a small clinical room at my center - not sure they would appreciate the kiddie pool in the eval room!
Keep em coming though!!!
