Fundraising ideas
I am the Fundraising Chairperson at DSs school. I have so many great ideas but don't even know where to start! For example, I want to sell Cookie Dough. I Googled Cookie Dough Fundraisers and about 500 different companies came up! I don't know which are legit or not What fundraisers have you loved? Which ones are busts? What are you doing new this year that you have never seen before?
Oh, also, DS goes to a Jewish pre-school so no Easter lily's or anything like that

Re: Fundraising ideas
Cookie dough is a great one. My cousin did this for a HS fundraiser and I bought a tub. It was delicious. I can ask if she knows the company.

Re: Fundraising ideas
$1.00 candy bars.
So many parents sell them at work for their DC for all types of activities. Most people have no problem dropping a dollar or several for candy. Plus, it's gone in a few minutes, so they'll need more....

Re: Fundraising ideas
DD's school used Great American for wrapping paper, food, jewlery, magazines.....
The 5th grader's so far have done a car wash, Kids Stuff coupon books, and now they are selling Spirit wear with the school's name (tanks, tees, sweatpants, hoodies, sweatshirts and blankets).
The girl scouts are using QSP for their fall fundraiser this year

Re: Fundraising ideas
Send some tech organizations asking for donations of old computers.
The computers were used for the classrooms; others were sold for parts on eBay.

Re: Fundraising ideas
We have more sucess with The Kids Stuff Coupon Books, than any other fundraiser BY FAR! It is awesome. I just sold 30 books to the girls on LIF. They are $25 and the school keeps $12.50 per book. Here is the link. They sell themselves: http://www.kidstuffcouponbook.com/

Re: Fundraising ideas
We did a cookie dough fundraiser at our school and it was kosher. If I can remeber the company I will let you know but I remeber the cookie dough being in a tub and it was $12 a tub since my kids go to a jewish school..
We also did personalized hagaddahs. They were beautiful
kidstuff books were a hit...
Passover candy always with the Hebrew School.
We also did a girls night out-- It was a dinner and we did silent auction got donations from places in the neighborhood ..

DD did a Fundraiser with Joe Corbi's. They have cookie dough and pizza making kits and various other food items: Joe Corbi's
As far as I know, it went over very well (I enjoyed the things we got)!

I would really appreciate if you could find out the cookie company, thank you. The hagaddah idea is a good idea too. Can you elaborate a little? We already do the Passover candy, the kidstuff books and do a parents night out. All great ideas

Re: Fundraising ideas
Candy bars and the coupon books are the most successful because they inexpensive. $10 rolls or wrapping paper and $12 tubs of cookie dough just aren't big sellers around here.
You could also have McDonald's/Chuck E Cheese night (or another restaurant) and a portion of the sales that night are given to the school.

Ditto! I really hate all of the other ones, overpriced stuff that I NEVER order. My DH sold over $400 of candy for our preschools fundraiser.

Re: Fundraising ideas
OK, so candy bars seem to be popular! Does the school just go to Costco and stock up then the kids sell them? How does this work at your school? Do the kids have to "buy" a box up front? I am obviously new at this sort of thing

Our preschool handed them out, you didn't need to buy them up front. They bought it from a fundraising company but it is much cheaper to just get the box from Costco.

Usually you would use a fundraising company. They give you all the stuff(candy, paperwork, handouts etc) They tell you how much to sell the candy for and they give you a certain amount from each item. Here is one company I found in a quick google search, but there are MANY http://oldfashioncandy.com/candy-store/splash.html?gclid=CPCErfHjxaQCFRI95QodnEACjA
ETA: I co-chair the fall fundraiser at our school, If I can help you out just send me an FM. We have never done candybars(as long as I have been there) I do have a company for you, if you go with cookie dough(which people seem to like) and I can tell you that wrapping paper has been a complete failure for us in the past. When looking for a company to go with, look for the one that gives you the highest %.

Re: Fundraising ideas
You should also check into Stop & Shop. I think you have to register your school online and a percentage of what parents spend gets donated to your school.
