funneling
hi i went for my level 2 this past Sat at 21 weeks. the babies are doing well
However, the tech said i am beginning to show slight cervical funneling. they wanted me to see the high risk specialist dr. he was there but couldnt see me then and i was supopsed to come back with in the week. there were no appointments so i was told to call today to get squeezed in. i called and was on hold for 20 min and finaly hung up. i called back and they cant get me in for 1.5 weeks. the tech said its nothing to worry about but im concerned. my research shows bed rest and cerclage are what they usually do to increase the pregnancy length. my hussband comes to all of my apts but will be away for work on my appointment day and is flying home the next day for my regular every other week apt. im a little concerend. has anyone been through this?? iguess if they were overly concerned they would have seen me that day. and its only slight but i really want to keep these babies inside as long as possible....

Re: funneling
If they are not squeezing you in or seeing you right at that appointment, I would think it is a precaution. I did not have this issue but I know that they are very watchful of the size and sahpe of the cervix to make sure there will be enough room, and that it doen't open too early.
Good Luck!!!!

Re: funneling
I am not sure if what I had was called funneling, but I had a shortened cervix and was put on bed rest at 24 weeks, delivered at 36 weeks. At 24 weeks it was too late to get the cerclage. I hope e/t is ok with you and the babies.

Re: funneling
I would call your regular doctor and have them call the special doctor. Usually you can get right in to a specialist that way...
