Funny- Letter I received from the Dept of Labor
I was on unemployment for about a month last year while I was in between jobs.
Today I get a form letter in the mail from the NYS Dept of Labor informing me of some new 13-week extension that was just signed into law etc.
The letter was basically saying that if I was still unemployed (even though they must know I haven't filed a claim in over a year.  ) that I should re-apply for this new extension, etc, etc.
The kicker though was this line:
If you are currently working, DO NOT QUIT YOUR JOB to collect these benefits, as you will not be eligible.
The fact that they have to put that line in the letter actually made me  .
Yeah, let me go quit my job now to collect those extra 13 weeks of measly unemployment benefits that I missed out on!

oh you would be surprised
I dated this guy - his mother was "disabled" but worked off the books
she was an RN making a ton before she fell and got hurt
she would rather get $900 a month disabilty then go back to being an RN
she said if they are going to give me $900 for free - I am going to take it
she would have made then in a week and then some back at her job

I got the same letter and couldn't believe they actually wrote that! are people really that ignorant
