Furniture dillema
OK, So DH and I spent the entire day today looking for funiture...we both fell in love with the set below.... Two problems....the changer/dresser is a single one, and DH and I are worried about where I would put all the lotions wipes etc that I'll be using since the dresser is pretty narrow..... We're getting the crib, the dresser/changer and the toychest pictured on the bottom right of the picture... They don't make an armoire for the set...the room that we're using as the nursery is huge, I can comfortably put a king size bedroom set in the room and we have two huge walk in closets in the room, so I feel like the room is going to be insanely empty looking...we bought a glider today, so that will take up some space..... Soooo do you think the room will look too empty and is the dresser too small, where do I put lotions wipes etc....i was thinking of getting a wrought iron shelving unit thing that I could keep everything on...what do you guys think???? Re: Furniture dillema
If you both love it, I say go for it! That being said, the furniture does look like it's on the small scale side. I think a wrought iron shelving unit sounds great! I think a glider, with an ottoman would help fill up the room. Maybe you can look for an armoire or a tall chest that would match the pieces? Good luck. You have great taste!!

Re: Furniture dillema
I would definitely get another piece, like a large dresser or an armoir. Even if it doesn't have the scroll work, there has to be something that can "match it". I would put the lotions, etc in the top drawer or you can use something like this:

Re: Furniture dillema
That does appear to be very small furniture for a large room. I too will be putting the nursery in a very large room and will be looking for large furniture to nicely fill it. But if your heart is set on it maybe you can find an armoire that will match it...but you are still stuck with where to put the diapers, creams and wipes next to the small changing table

Re: Furniture dillema
I think it is beautiful and you should go for it. It is better for a room not to be overcrowded anyway, and once gets a little bigger, toys and stuff will help fill it up

I think we're going to eventually get a bookcase, also an armoire wouldn't be necessary since i have two walk in closets, so to add another closet to the room doesn't make sense for us....UGH!!! sooo frustrated....

Armoires can also have shelves inside for extra storage (like blankets and towels and stuff like that). Also, extra diapers take up a lot of room! Even a large bookcase would be nice with that furniture. You can put pictures and other nick nacks on the shelves until the baby gets lot if books to fill it

you read my mind.... What do you think of this....
I think the color would go well and for the beginning I can keep diapers and stuff on the top drawer of the dresser and possibly the lotions etc there as well or even on the top shelf of the bookcase...who knows....im just talking out of my tush...Image Attachment(s):

No worries. I only saw my set online and when it was delivered, it was very rich looking and had good weight to it- great price too! Other ladies on LIW bought a lot of furniture off of the site and have been thrilled with their purchases. You guys will be happy.

If you have all that space as you say, then why don't you just splurge and buy a huge set from Bellini or Behrs?

I didn't like anything I saw at either, I wanted my furniture to be different...we looked at every designer out there and everything looked the same to me :(

Beautiful furniture! I like the other piece that you also posted, which should help with the emptiness concerns.

Re: Furniture dillema
I was going to suggest a bookcase too. It's more practical (IMO) than an armoire.
