Furniture shopping...
So yesterday, DH and I went out to look at some dining room sets. I saw one that I loved on the back of a circular at a store in Melville. When we got there, he told me it wasn't on the floor and I said..okay then we'll come back when it is. He informed me that it won't be on the floor at all. Huh? You're advertising something and I can't see it? He then said I could order it and they will put it together on the floor. If I don't like it, then I'm not under any obligation to buy.
Whatever...I think I'll just shop around.

Re: Furniture shopping...
Definitely sounds fishy.
Maybe you can get the make and style and look for it elsewhere.

Re: Furniture shopping...
Yea Steph...I noticed that with some stores on 110, the non name brand ones...shady and not as cheap but if anything almost pricier.
Maybe try sticking with Raymour & Flanigan, Levitz ( I got my BR furniture from there), Macys(good cleareance center by RF and in Broadway Mall upstairs) Bloomie's, etc.
Good luck! Im going to be doing the same in a few months.

Re: Furniture shopping...
Shady! I had something like that happen to me. I came in to see a bedroom set, advertised at $750 (should've known this was too good to be true.) I called ahead first to ask for directions. They asked what I was interested in and when I mentioned it, they made a point to tell me that they had 50 sets left. Miraculously when I showed up a few hours later, they suddenly had none and didn't know if more would be coming in.

Re: Furniture shopping...
I had a similar experience with the kitchen and dining places on old country road. I did not feel comfortable buying from those kind of stores. I also feel they are overpriced.
