FYI: Ladies with GD.
I just wanted you to know that after everymeal I've been walking around my house and my numbers have been good. I really believe this is helping. I am not starving myself either at meals. They say physical activity lowers your blood glucose level and I agree. Just think about it...You go for the one hour and you're drinking a SUGAR drink and then sitting waiting for them to test your blood. And the girls that go for the 3hr you're are drinking the whole bottle of pure sugar and then sitting in a lab for 3 hrs waiting. There's really no physical movement going on. Just my opinion, but I'm curious to see if physical activity has been helping anyone else. Hope this can help somebody. At least if it does work you can give yourself that treat you've been dying to have. Well, that's how I rationalize it anyway.

Re: FYI: Ladies with GD.
Weird thing is my numbers have been so low. My sugar has yet to get over 115. This morning 2 hours after breakfast it was only 55....
My brother who is diabetic said I should have eaten a candy bar because that is too low.
I am so confused. I go Wed so hopefully I will get some answers.

wow that is crazy, is the machine set up right, make sure ur number when it turns on matches the number on the side of the bottle, that is what the lady told me at the training, if that is not right, then the readings are going to be wrong! hope you get some good feedback wed!!

Re: FYI: Ladies with GD.
the numbers match. i even had my brother come and check it.
When the nurse called she said I didn't pass all 3 hours. So maybe I need to be testing 1 hour after I eat or 3 hours after I eat?
I will let you know what they say on Wed.

I had this and had GD - it might be reactive hypoglycemia. If you don't eat fast carbs and space out a bunch of small meals it is better. My sugar was as low as 34!
BTW, fasting sugars for PG is lower 70-90ish.

So you can have both reactive hypoglycemia AND GD? I was so confused by this because I have reactive hypoglycemia and didn't think I could have both. I went for my three hour but then I was thinking I was sure to pass because I couldn't have both. There goes my hope!

Re: FYI: Ladies with GD.
I had GD and taking a walk would no way have fixed by numbers. I needed the insilin to do that.

Sometimes with GD, nothing you do or eat with change the fact that your numbers will always be high. Your hormones while pregnant play a big part in GD. Insulin unfortunetly is sometimes the only way to go.

same here!!! Allthough walking is good for you, it doesnt necessarily mean your numbers will def go down from it or enough to make a difference on how well your body breaks down the sugar in taking the 1 and 3 hour tests.
