Re: gaining too much weight...

I feel your pain! When I got pg, I was actually a few pounds underweight. The last time I went I was 22 weeks and had gained a total of 25 pounds and the dr. gave me such a hard time. I felt horrible when I left- I wanted to say something but I didn't know what.

Re: gaining too much weight...

That is not too much weight to gain! I've heard a pound a week is average. My sister gained around 60 pounds with each 4 of her kids and was able to lose it after. No worries!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: gaining too much weight...

Well.....even though a lot of people gain a pound a week and it is perfectly fine. MOST doctors want people to stay in the 25-35lb range.

That being said, you are still in that range and I think the dr getting on you is a bit much. Although it may be b/c they are concerned about GD.

Stinks tho, I am sorryChat Icon I fully believe a pregnant woman shouldn't get any comments about her weight EVER!

Re: gaining too much weight...

I gained 50+ pounds the first time and I was trying to keep it down, but it's not working - It has to be genetics, because I'm really not going crazy with food.

My glucose level was 110. My dr. said anything under 140 is good. Is that ok? I have gained around 30 lbs at 32 wks. Some people gain more weight than others, I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: gaining too much weight...

Don't worry, I gained 55 with DD, and my doctor didn't even mention it. And so many pregnant women I know have gained more than I did, so I wouldn't let the dr. upset you.

Re: gaining too much weight...

the weight you ahve gained is nothing. Are these doctors for real? First they tell you to gain weight then they say not to gain. Screw em
