Game system HELP
I want to get DH a game system for Christmas. Problem is I'm not sure which one.
PS3 is out of the question. DH isn't that into video games for me to hunt this down & pay $$$ for.
He said he would be happy with either PS2 or XBox 360. That doens't help me. I have no idea what the difference is between the two, which is better, which is worth the price tag. Please help.
Like I said, he's not that into video games. He just wants one to occupy the nights when there is nothing on tv & I'm reading a book  .

I don't know the difference between the two, but DH got rid of his PS2 for an Xbox 360. I know he's able to play and chat live with other people that are playing... he plays with his BIL all the time who is in NC. Like a PS2 you can watch DVDs on it and now I think you're about to get Netflix thru it as well.
I'd go with the Xbox360 if I were buying.

Xbox 360!!! Playstation 2 is older now since they are making everything for Playstation 3. Now X-Box 360 has a few diferent types. The arcade version is cheaper. But it does not have much memory on it. Its good to just play games but not save much. Regular X-Box has more memory and you can save much more on it. I think its about $200 for arcade xbox 360 and 250 for the regular one. They have other that are big packages for more stay away from them I found them not worth the price.

100% agree. PS2 is old and outdated, i don't even think they are making any new games for the PS2 anymore (though i could be wrong about this).
Xbox 360 is the way to go!

Definitely get the Xbox 360!!! The online gaming community is more robust and there seem to be a greater # of games available for the 360 vs PS.

if you're not doing the PS3 def do xbox 360
Dh has a love affair with it sometimes lol
But on a serious note, the prices aren't bad right now.
You can get an Elite one which comes with a 120 gig hard drive and hdmi cables

My DH swears by the 360. He would never recommend another system, ever. You can get the arcade version for a decent price.

Def get in the Xbox 360 if you can not get the PS3. They have the new Xbox Elite. There are so many games out there he might love to play. Saints row, is a pretty good one that he might enjoy.

Sounds like your DH is like mine - wants to be able to play some games, but isn't overly nuts about it (thankfully!).
My DH wanted the Xbox 360 so I got that for him 2 years ago. We actually JUST upgraded him to the Xbox Elite (it's black, double the memory, and has the HDMI connection) and I swear he's like a little kid! lol.
I would def go for the xbox360 over the ps2.
