Garden City Train Station
Does anyone know if they have cabs there waiting or do you need to call for one when you get off the train?

Re: Garden City Train Station
LOL. There is Stewart Manor, the one at Cathedral and 7th, Country Life Press, Nassau Boulevard, and Merillon Ave. You probably want the one on Cathedral and 7th (across from the GC Hotel)? I don't think they have taxis.

Re: Garden City Train Station
There are several Garden City train stations:
On the Hempstead line: Garden City (across from the GC Hotel) walking distance into 7th street town Nassau Blvd Country life press
There are always taxis (well most of the time sitting) at the GC train station, sometimes at the Nassau Blvd and I'm not sure about the Country life one.
There is a stand - with a number for garden city taxi (town car service) at the stations so you can call if you want.
Otherwise you can take one of the other lines which run more frequently to either Merrilon ave or your best bet - Mineola train station - a lot of people in GC use that line b.c there are more trains that run more often to that station. There are always taxis (all island if memory serves me right) sitting there if not there IS a taxi stand right on the east bound side.
Where in GC are you going - you might be able to walk from one of the stations FM me if you have questions I would be happy to help.

Re: Garden City Train Station
Thank you so much. I'm going to one the on 7th Street, but I'm thinking i may be better off just going to Mineola now.

Re: Garden City Train Station
I like mineola b.c it is a huge station with several lines going thru it - and there are taxis there - but if you are going to someplace in GC near the main town (7th street or some places on Franklin Ave) you might be better to go to GC station and then walk or take the car service. That is what several of my friends did for my showers in the past.

Re: Garden City Train Station
Depending where in GC you need to go, you can also get off on the New Hyde Park stop or Merillon Ave stop
