Gardeners - Help with Rose Plant
I have a Large potted Rose Plant that did so well this year. Is there anything that I need to do to it to preserve it during the winter so that it will grow next year?
TIA

Are you leaving it outside? If so, be careful because anything that's potted won't have the ground to keep it warm. I'd dig a hole next to the foundation and sink the whole pot into the hole so it keeps warm and doesn't freeze.

it will be staying outside and it is out on the terrace of the apartment that I rent so I can not dig up the ground. (but thanks for that tip anyway)

Re: Gardeners - Help with Rose Plant
I used to be an avid member of the GardenWeb forums till they were bought out by iVillage. But I still search for information and usually find what I need.
Here's a thread on winterizing roses, keep in mind they're all talking about ones in the ground:
Winterizing roses
Looks like there's a bit involved with mulching and trimming so they come back strong next year.

Re: Gardeners - Help with Rose Plant
hi kristen to keep a rose overwintered in the pot outside you want to get a large burlap bag ( or muslin bag) and put the whole plant ( pot included) into the bag then fill the bag with wood shavings. that will insulate the plant from cold damage and still give it enough room to breathe.
