Gas cramps and bloat
This has apparently taken over the nauseau for the last few days. Last night I was writhing around in pain for 2 hours, it was unbearable!
Does anyone else have this? What do you do to alleviate it? Is there anything safe I can take?

Re: Gas cramps and bloat
How far along are you??
My dr. said that after 12 weeks I could take GasX, it really helped. Tums in the beginning though, but they didn't do too much!
Hang in there........

Re: Gas cramps and bloat
11 weeks. It happens like clockwork about 1-2 hours after I eat. It is just so incredibly uncomfortable, and keeps me up at night!

Re: Gas cramps and bloat
I have the bloating and gas cramps too. I am 9 weeks. I can't wait for them to go away. I have just been trying to deal with it, I am kinda of afraid of what I am can and can't take.

Re: Gas cramps and bloat
i've been dealing with this too!!
LoL - i swear, i have every preggo symptom ever.
I usually just roll around on the bed or floor until it moves around and comes up. I burp a LOT. If I'm not in a place to roll around (like my commute), I just rub my tummy til it moves.
It's scary, because it can easily be mistaken for cramping! But it's definitely just gas.

Re: Gas cramps and bloat
drink a lot of water-- and make sure you are getting enough fiber to move the digestion along. otherwise, i always felt more comfortable alone in a room

Re: Gas cramps and bloat
I had that when I was around your time. Honestly, I just kinda moved around and tried to get through it without any help from medication, cause I was told there was nothing I could safely take. I'm sorry, I know what you're going through and it svcks! Just know that eventually it will get better. I only had it for about two weeks. Now it happens on rare occasions.

Re: Gas cramps and bloat
I read somewhere too that progesterone is what causes your digestive system to slow down, causing excess bloat and gas. I've been on progesterone supplements since the beginning so I'm hoping now that I stopped taking them, as of yesterday, this will go away.
I never had this with my first pregnancy!

Re: Gas cramps and bloat
I had the same thing not too long ago. It is so painful! My best friend is an OB/GYN and she said water is the cure for those sorts of things - it flushes everything out. Same thing for cramping. Also, smaller more frequent meals might help with digestion too.
I hope you feel better soon!
