Gave notice at work today
I gave my notice officically today. I tried yesterday but my boss wanted me to wait until they countered. I turned down the counter off today.
They didnt even come close to my new position. I have been really unhappy there, there was no growth and the company was just a headache. Yet I am sad to leave the friends I have made and now I am nervous about whether or not I am making the right decision. I have the worst fear of leaving something and going to somethng worse.

You'll be fine! Its sooo scary taking on a new job, I cried my eyes out the day I left my job, and they kept me on after giving the 2 weeks notice for those 2 weeks...I missed my co-workers/friends A LOT...I was scared fo starting a new job, needing new health insurance, etc...but its turned out for the BEST! I am VERY happy where I am now, and have made even better friends!
It will all turn out fine!

the hard part is over. its only natural that u would be nervous. did your current job give u a hard time at all today

my boss was really nice and supportive about it. He really tried. The whole situation sucked and he was cleaning up my old bosses messes. He was just sad it came down to me leaving.

at least they didn't make u feel comforatable. its better you'll be leaving on good terms

I was told never to accept the counter-offer...if you weren't worth it to them yesterday, why are you worth it today?

u know, that's a good point. i always wondered why once u give notice, they give a counter offer

It seems like we are going through the same exact thing...
I gave notice, and my one boss cried.... (ok- I cried too)
Today my other boss (higher up boss) asked what she could do to stay... and counter offered something very very close to what the new company has offered... but the benefits ALONE are so much better at the new company... I just cant walk away...
At times, I question whether or not Im going the right thing... but to be honest- Im so excited about this new job, that i think its whats helping me pull through!!!
