General Contractor Recommendations Please!
Hi everyone! I'm new to the boards and new to home ownership. Just closed on a house in Ronkonkoma last week 
We need to have some work done inside the house - new floors, all new interior doors, and some new cabinets/countertop added to the kitchen. I really appreciate any recs anyone can offer! It's hard to find a good contractor and we really don't know of any. The last guy my parents used was awful so I'm a bit nervous finding the right person to hire.

MY advice is to go on the BBB website and choose from there. Thats how I am choosing anyone from now on b/c we had a horrible experience with a contractor that was recommended on here.

my mom used Rick Crain for new windows- a complete gut job on the kitchen, new floors, sheetrock, etc... (my dad did the cabinets)
since she used him, I was so impressed, I started recommending him to customers...
his number is 516.334.1298
I love him b/c he comes when he says he will always on time or early!
tell him dina from dynamic kitchens sent ya

We used Forman Construction out of Massapequa. 516-798-4114. We were verrrrrrry happy with him!
Ditto to what Jen919ifer said. Check BBB, also you can check with Nassau County Dept of Consumer Affairs (they SHOULD be licensed) so you can check on their website.
