Generic brands!!
I need the skinny on what generic/ store brand items are worthy substitutions for the more alternatives. I'm talking
diapers wipes formula
anything else you can think of.
I had a coupon for BRU- save $7 when you buy a huge box of pampers diapers and a huge box of pampers wipes- so I used it- still cost me $36!
Meanwhile BRU has a generic diaper, but what do I know- maybe it leaks. Please help me, my wallet hurts.

I only use these, they are great. Kirkland diapers are okay, but Pampers really are the best brand out there!

Re: Generic brands!!
Unfortunately, you really need to try most diapers out....some will leak for some babies but not others. Strange, I know! We use generic diapers now but used Pampers in the beginning. As you said when my wallet began to cry, we began to look for an alternative option. We use Eckerd Diapers but I have heard people rave about CVS, Target's Supreme's, BJ's and Costco.
We use Costco wipes and they are great!
Can't help with formula though.

Re: Generic brands!!
Hey girl.
as for wipes, I suggest getting BJ's wipes.. they are unreal (comparable to Pampers Sensitive and smell better and come in a nice pack that I carry around rather than a wipe case that only holds a few)! I wish they had them down here.
Diapers, well, I've tried the BJ's ones but they changed them and to be honest, I just went back and used Pampers. they are terrific. My advice is that you change up the brand every month or so and see which one works best for you.
Formula, I used Similac Advanced with my DS and DD but towards the end of her drinking formula, my ped told me that I should check out Walmart's parents choice formula. it's the SAME thing as enfimil but it's only like 11 bucks EACH! instead of almost 30 each! that's a big difference.

Re: Generic brands!!
LOVE the Costco Kirkland wipes...
Don't use any Generic diapers. I am loyal to Pampers Cruisers. I tried generic and never again!!
Ive used Target Formula for a few months and had no issues. So much cheaper too!

Re: Generic brands!!
We use Walmart Formula..it saves a ton of $$$ and I feel it's the same darn stuff. It's half the price!!!
Wipes..I basically use whatever is the cheapest..but I actually prefer Shoprite Brand...
Diapers..I buy whatever is the cheapest and what I have a coupon for. (Either Huggies, Pampers, or Luvs) I have not lucked out with the cheapy brands. Ive tried the cheap brands from Walmart (parents choice) and Stop & Shop...I hated them.

Re: Generic brands!!
Formula: I'm using a supermarket brand. Formula is federally regulated, so they all have to "pass". Read the breakdown on the label...the brand I am using has more DHA/ARA than Similac Isomil does (as does Enfamil).
Diapers: CVS Supremes. Each baby is different as is each parent's preference. I find they hold SO much pee BUT when a sale goes on name brands PLUS coupons, sometimes it comes out cheaper PER DIAPER. Yes...I calculate how much each diaper costs. I read that the Especially For Baby supremes from TRU/BRU are good as well and I think they may be on sale 2 boxes for $15 right now.
Wipes: LOVE LOVE LOVE CVS soft cloth wipes. They are so soft. I'll also use Parents Choice (from walmart) Sensitive (royal blue top). They other versions of the PC wipes I did not like.
Also...Walmart has their own version of Puffs that actually have 10% more calcium than the Gerber Puffs and they have different flavors too

Re: Generic brands!!
funny i was going to ask the same thing.....
Starting 2/4 BRU is selling THEIR dipaers (especially for baby) 2 jumbo packs for $30. they are regularly prices at 24. So getting it for $15 is good.
But do they work good is the question????

Re: Generic brands!!
I use the Target brand formula- it's half the price and the same exact thing compared to Enfamil. We save so much money this way.

Re: Generic brands!!
For the baby coming in march we are going to use Walmart's brand (Parents choice) it is the same thing as enfamil and FDA approved. I got the okay from my ped. When Ayla was born last May, her formula was $19.99. when she was 6 months old, the same formula went to $23. She is almost 9 months and the formula is now $27.00 So in that amount of time it went up $7.00. Un real.
Wipes, we use Kirkland. LOVE them. Generic diapers is my next mission.

Re: Generic brands!!
I love the Costco and Target wipes. I like Costco's packaging more than the Target packaging. It's easier to pull the wipe out and seal it back up with one hand while the other hand is on the squirming baby.
We use Huggies diapers (but I hate Huggies wipes). For us, Pampers or Huggies work well. Never tried a generic brand for diapers.
We used Similac Advanced for a long time. Costco carried large cans for around $30. Costco became inconvenient for us to get to so we tried Target brand. You wouldn't know the difference. And we could get 3 regular sized cans for the price of one Similac can.

Re: Generic brands!!
Coscto's Kirkland wipes are great. I like them much better than Pampers wipes.
For Diapers, I'm all about Pampers. I've tried Eckerd, Luvs & Huggies. Always go back to Pampers.

Re: Generic brands!!
this past weekend dh ran out to buy diapers at cvs, and for some reason they only had the cvs brand in the store (?).
anyway, we were desparate so he bought them, and so far they have withstood entire nights' worth of pee and several mega poops without leaking. so i think i will be buying them from now on
