George Lopez and Wife End 17-Year Marriage
George Lopez and his wife have decided to part ways.
"George and Ann Lopez have made the decision to end their 17-year marriage," a rep for the Lopez Tonight host tells PEOPLE. "The decision is amicable and by mutual agreement."
The couple wed in 1993. They have one child together, Mayan Lopez.
"They remain dedicated parents, and committed partners in business and their philanthropic organization, The Lopez Foundation,"the rep says.
In 2005, Ann famously donated her kidney to her husband. Crediting her for giving him life, George, 49, told PEOPLE, "I can't pay her back, but what I can do is make her as happy as she thought I would when we first got married."

I read this last night and was so sad!
A few years ago they did a bunch of interviews about how she donated her kidney to him and how it was the ultimate sign of true love and what not.
I thought they were a genuinely happy couple, but just goes to show you never know what happens behind closed doors.

Unbelievable.
If there is one celebrity who should never, ever divorce his wife, it would be the guy whose wife gave him a friggin' kidney.
I hope she gets 99.99% of his money and I hope he gets guilt pains in his kidney when he's out there chasing younger, ahem, ladies.

They have a child though. I think even if they had split back then, she probably would have done it anyway. Who knows?
I thought the same thing "how could you leave a woman who saved your life"
but you really never know what goes on. Maybe she is the one who wanted the divorce...

she should get her kidney back.
I heard that he had cheated on her, right around the Sandra Bullock/Jesse James scandal.
