Gerber Biter Biscuits

Ok, so Katie is 9m3w old. I gave her one for the first time and almost Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon . Everything was fine the whole time, messy , but fine until the end when she couldnt hold it anymore bc it got too small. So - the hole thing went in her mouth Chat Icon Chat Icon . I watched her, and I almost had a heartattack the entire time, till she was done.

Is that what they do, shove the last peice in their mouth and just gum it??

I wonder if she is too young for it. She isnt crawling yet but she meets all the other guidelines on the box.

Once it got to that point I used to take it away. Ds used to choke on everything though so it was inevitable.

If she can handle it then let her try, if you feel nervous then take it away Chat Icon

I always took it away when it got that small. They can totally choke on those if they accidentally swallow instead of gumming that last bit.

Don't give it to her again if it worries you. I don't blame you, I really don't think these things are safe. And when DS got more teeth and stronger jaws, he bit off a good chunk one time and nearly choked, eventhough I was sitting right in front of him.

She can learn to chew by eating table foods, you really don't need to give the biscuits.

Re: Gerber Biter Biscuits

I didn't give them to DS till he was 1 yr, but by then I was confident that he would chew/gum the last piece.

If you are worried, I would hold off on them. They are very hard and take much longer to disintergrate.

I agree! DS still, at 17 months, does that with food if it gets too small or if he is too lazy to hold it! I just watch and when it gets to be a certain size I take it away.
