Re: German Gummy Bears...
Do you mean Haribo that are actually made in a Haribo Factory in Germany?
I know there is a difference, but the ones in the UK are pretty close. I can send you some Gold Bears if you fancy...let me know

Re: German Gummy Bears...
Not the Haribro in the Gold Bag. I went to a candy store in Florida, and they sold them, and they were bigger than the regular ones, and more hard, which is the way I like them

Re: German Gummy Bears...
I love Gummi Bears but the Black Forest ones I find to be really chewy and sugary where as the Haribro ones are a little tougher..

I agree, I dont like the Black Forest ones, They are like the Haribo ones, but bigger. They sold them loose. I thought maybe someone knew of a local candy shop that sells them, or else i am just going to have to take a plane ride back to Florida

Re: German Gummy Bears...
forest pork store on jericho tpke in huntington station (just east of huntington townhouse)
but the gummy bears I know are far from hard... they're more squishy than american ones... I hate to say it, I think you got a stale batch

I was just going to say that. The German gummi bears are usually softer.

Re: German Gummy Bears...
Haribo Gold Bears in Europe are pretty firm, firmer than American Gummys

Re: German Gummy Bears...
I feel like I'm going nuts... I'm going to buy german gummis next time I go to the butcher shop....
this is the food of my youth! Every german kid is nuts for gummibaerchen... If I have any memory at all, I should have crystal clear memories of chewy goodness.... and since I only was introduced to american gummy bears in my late teens, I swear I recall american gummys being unexpectedly firm and dry
I promise to report back with my gummi findings
