german restaurant
Can anyone recommend a nice German Resturant in the Nassau/Suffolk area. I want to get my parents a gift certificate for their wedding anniversary.
Thanks.

I used to go to Koenig's all the time, sadly the last time I was there was 9/11...weird thing to remember.....
There's a GREAT place in Queens called Zum Stamtish (not sure of spelling) and it's on Myrtle Ave in Glendale.....

Konig's is yummy, as is Zum Stamtisch!! Myrtle Ave is a main road, and they don't have a parking lot, so you'll have to park at a meter or a side street. I do miss Neiderstein's on Metropolitan Ave!!!

Re: german restaurant
Pumpernickels is excellent. You may need a reservation. We have tried going without one and had trouble getting a table.
Black Forest Brew Haus in Farmingdale (off 110) is pretty good too, but Pumpernickels is the best I've been to.

There is also a German rest. on Jericho tpke in east northport/elwood area. It's right by DSW, east of Warner Road.

That's Fred's. It's not as good as Pumpernickels. I've had both.

Re: german restaurant
I am not a huge fan of German food, but people I know who love German food love zum stamtish in Queens. I have eaten there and it is excellent.
I have also been to Koenigs and Gebhardts, and both are really good.
