Gestational diabetes test tomorrow morning?
do I have to fast?
if so for how long prior. My appointment is at 9:30 am
can I drink water in the morning prior to the test?

Is it the three hour or the one hour? For the one hour I didn't have to fast. For the three hour I had to -- nothing to eat after 11 the night before, not even water. Your doc may be different though!

I have mine tomorrow too! My dr said they tell you to fast for 12 hours but you don't have to. He said before I go just to have toast in the morning and if they asked if i fasted say yes - but you don't have to.

It was the same for me, but I was told no food or drinks after 12am for the 3 hour.

i was told to fast. So the last meal i had was dinner. with #1...I failed my 1 hour and had to take the 3 hour but luckily passed.
with #2. I didn't eat as many carbs a few days before the test. I ate my last dinner and then the next morning I just drank some water. I went in at 9:30 for my 1 hour glucose test. a few days later at my next appt, they told me I passed.

1 hr I was told not to fast and failed. At the lab they gave me the side eye when I told them this. I was then told oh, Bihar eat protein before.
3 hr test has multiple variations. Your dr should've given you a sheet on how to prepare before. I had to add certain foods for 3 days prior and fast 12 hrs before. Water was okay with both tests.

Everyone's doctor does it differently- yours didn't tell you?
ETA: My doc explained that you should eat your normal diet but it is a good idea to schedule the test right before you would have a big meal, because that can skew the results, causing a false negative and then you'd have to unnecessarily take the 3 hour, which sucks
