getting a nyc job

well, we're moving back to ny from fl this summer and i would like to work in bklyn b/c that's where we'll be living. i dont know if i should apply online b/c im not sure if i can get a choice of schools to interview w/ or if they put me wherever they need me (not int. in that option)

i know people who may have pull, but i really don't want to get a job like that, i'd rather get it on my own merit, kwim? so do i apply online or call the schools?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

tia

Honestly, I have never know anyone getting a job from applying online. If you know people...use them

call schools on your own. the board of ed. doesnt' really place you unless you're a Fellow or other type of program that they run.

Check out PS 8 in Brooklyn Heights. I worked there and LOVED it... it was a great school by city standards and in an awesome area of brooklyn. i was quite happy there.

Definitely send directly to the schools.. thats how I got my job. Don't go through the DOE.

MS 126 in Greenpoint is always looking for teachers.
Walk in with your resume and ask for Dr. Toback. (the principal)
