If Im sitting at my desk leaning forward on the baby I sometimes feel "taps". Not sure what it is but I'd like to think it's the baby telling me to sit up...im crushing her/him!
funny you say this, my DS does the same thing! I feel like he is saying "um mom, I need room here!"

Re: Getting anxious... when did you first...
I never felt flutters, but I began to feel soft kicks at 17 weeks. But it was very inconsistent (would feel a ton of strong kicks one day and little to none the next) till about 30 weeks.

My first flutter was 16w4d. I was sitting on my couch and was shocked!

Re: Getting anxious... when did you first...
I felt these babies early....around 11 weeks, lots of flutters, then it stoped a LOT. I asked why and the Dr. Said lots of amniotic fluid and placentas now. With my son by 20 weeks I felt a lot of kicking. Now at almost 20 weeks with 2 , I dont feel that much. a VERY random kick here and there.
MY OB said 22 weeks is when they like to have a mom feel real movement. HTH

I started feeling flutters around 16/17 weeks. It became more regular around 19 weeks.

Re: Getting anxious... when did you first...
Ohh, I just went through this. I didn't feel my baby until Monday night at 20 weeks 1 day. I skipped the flutters, I feel like little taps. I was so upset and worried because I hadn't felt him move. I imagined all types of hoirrible things. Our Level II was yesterday (of course he waited until the night before to move). He looked perfect and, I figured he must be tiny and that's why I hadn't felt him but instead our baby is 14 ounces not the average 10 :)
